A decision's been made Desert Storm has begun
The troops are all there now a war's to be won
Bombers are steadily doing their part
Making a way for the ground war to start
The reason they're there is easy to see
They're fighting for oil and the right to be free
At home all the family and friends are in prayer
That God will protect every-one over there
Yellow ribbons tied round almost every tree
An American Flags are what you can see
Even in my front yard flies the red, white and blue
Yes, my husband's there serving his country too
"God end all this quickly we do understand
It's simply because of one angry man"
I'm glad that I live in a country so free
To Love one-another the way it should be
Now my man is gone to risk his own life
He makes me so proud I'm a "Desert Storm Wife"

He came in our lives a few years ago
This troubled young stanger that we didn't know
Sent by our sweet niece who loved him you see
She knew in our house is where he should be
So we took him home but soon we could tell
The streets that he lived on had taught him real well
Our rules that we set were for his own good
The trust must be earned and he understood
He's scared and unsure the pain was so real
I knew only time could help all this heal
When many long talks and also some tears
The days turned to months and months into years
We loved him through all the good and the bad
Sometimes it was hard when he made us sad
Now he is all grown-up but a child I still see
His heart is so tender the way it should be
We taught him the things we thought were the best
Now it is up to him to find out the rest
And when life seems cold so dark and so grim
I hope that he knows that we're here for him
He's part of our lives and always will be
So deep in the heart of my husband and me
I feel we've been blessed by this special one
Yes I'm glad to call "This Stranger Our Son"
