The Kansas Ki Society (KKS) is a not-for-profit organization. We train in Ki-Aikido and Ki development for adults and children. We are affiliated with Ki no Kenkyukai (Ki Society International) and Ki Aikido USA. Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art which is entirely defensive in orientation. Ki is the Japanese word for life energy. All of our training is designed to utilize Ki energy, rhythm, and the coordinated action of mind and body, not brute muscular force, so Aikido is effective regardless of weight and body size. Ki-Aikido is non-competitive and has no sparring or tournements. Our Ki development classes are designed for people who want to utilize Ki energy and mind and body coordination in daily life, but who may not have any interest in martial arts. These classes also teach breathing and meditation techniques. We have Ki-Aikido classes for adults six days a week, Sunday through Friday; Ki classes on Thursdays evenings, and childrens' classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays for ages seven to fourteen. If you have any questions, please call us at (785)843-8419. If you are in the Lawrence, Kansas area, please feel free to come by and observe a class.
The Kansas Ki Society is a not-for-profit organization that does not discriminate based on gender, age, religion, national or ethnic origin, physical ability, or sexual orientation.
